After getting over Saturday's frustration the creativity seemed to flow today and the day wasn't long enough :-)
My Ma & Pa - 21st September 1963, the photo is a scanned one and it's seen better days this why i distressed all my edges and tried to get a real vintage feel happening (Not that your old - I still luv yaxxx)
I love the saying just above the date 'There is good & bad in everyone', how true is this???
Even more Dusty Attic - Swirly Vine, Tulle which i love ( I do have cream & white in stock just need to put it in shop, soon promise!, email me if you would like some), Flowers, Lace.
It's week 3 of DD with Nic & the fun thing wasn't really happening for me yesterday with this layout! I started my day with lots of positive ideas only to be unstuck by the first step of choosing the papers. The papers i first picked ended up being the ones i choose for this layout & i should have started from there. But oh no I had a moment or more like a 4 hour moment going through all my papers probably 4 times, even got to the stage of cutting 3 other sets out. They weren't working for me and my frustration grew & grew. So gave up & decided if i miss this week i do!
After dinner i had another go, determined to at least try! So out came my first pick of papers and i worked on the background papers, they seem to come together OK. Then disaster again, the pic i wanted to use was totally wrong.....then it came to me... I used the same papers on a bird house i made a little while ago, so to cut a long story short this is my result! I am not normally into layouts , hence the class lol. I'm not sure if i captured all the design elements for this particular week, but hey i had ago & eventually had fun!!!!!!
Tim Holtz new Alterations Sizzix Dies are just incredible, loved using this one. I used my cuttlebug with 2 B plates the die a piece of chipboard, and oh so easy to cut it blew me away. I would normally run the chipboard through 2 to 3 times, no need with this one!!!!!
Think I have rambled on enough lol.... hope you all having a creative weekend!!!!
Well it's Sunday late arvo, another week gone................haven't had much scrapp'n time boo hoo, but have managed to do a little playing.
Dabber Resist this is one of the techniques Tim Holtz shares in his new book 'A Compendium of Curiosties' , it is also a technique that we learnt in my online class with Nic.
Hi I’m Rae from Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.
I am 3rd in a lineup of 4 girls (poor Dad). Born & raised in the southwest of Western Australia, Having now settled in Darwin, and totally loving the lifestyle NT has to offer. Together with my DP Neil (my rock) we have four kids between us Ben (27), Shani (22), Zebadiah (20) & Jessiah (15).
Since being introduced to the Scrappin’ world in 2005 by sisters Ang & Sammy and not being able to draw a ‘stick figure’ in art at school. I think WOW look at what I can do now! I am hooked, line and sinker and my journey has taught me many things and I have met so many amazing people.
Antiques, Vintage, Shabby Chic, Cream, White, are a few of my favourite things. Best add denim to that list as I wouldn’t be the same without it.
Being addicted to OTP and creating projects that are different – I tend to me ‘Out There’ at times. Hence our company name and our special lifestyle in the Northern Territory.
